Graphic Web Designer - St. Lawrence County
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – Full time: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility for website maintenance, as well as some evening and weekends required for events.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related field. Knowledge of HTML and CSS and experience with design software required. Knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization) and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products, preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance – Authorized to work in the United States.
Summary/Objective - The Graphic Web Designer assists in the implementation of all agency promotion, special events and programs/services including: graphic design, website development, social media, marketing, print materials, videos, and web programming.
Essential Functions – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Development of all promotional and web design for the agency, including search engine optimization and enhancing areas of the website with SEO-rich content.
- Build and foster collaborative relationships and contacts with departments, businesses, community organizations, and agencies; responding to department design requests.
- Manage agency and SLC Public Transit identity and vision in all marketing materials.
- Design, maintain, and code the look and feel of responsive pages for agency websites and SLC Public Transit considering UX/UI (user experience/user interface) design.
- Coordinate a system to maintain agency materials and photos for historical/future use.
- Working with vendors on materials by researching bids and preparing art work to maintain branding guidelines.
- Provide support for agency events which may include creation of print materials, promotional videos/presentations, etc.
- Meet established deadlines for assigned projects and proactively inform stakeholders
- Stay current on UI and UX trends to drive new innovative and creative ideas, Deliver improvements and optimizations to existing features
- Inspect and evaluate all finished products before they “go live”
- Assist in the promotion of agency initiatives, including taking photographs or creating videos.
- Work on contracted jobs, as assigned.
Competencies –
- Knowledge and proficiency in content management systems, CSS, and HTML, Mac OS and MS Windows Applications, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
- Time Management and the ability to handle several project demands
- Work independently and have excellent attention to detail
- Communication skills and good visual design sense
Supervisory Responsibility – No direct reports however, may provide oversight of assigned trainees or volunteers.
Travel - On occasion for events or trainings and between counties, as assigned.

Wage Range - $19.37-$22.08/Hour, More based on education and experience
