Description
The Madrid Canoe Regatta is a series of races held annually over two days in early June on the Grasse River at Madrid Municipal Park, Madrid, NY. The weekend includes recreational races of three miles, amateur canoe and kayak races of nine and 13 miles, as well as pro races. The pro races include a one mile sprint race and nine and 16 mile marathon races. Amateur and pro marathon races include a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam. Camping is available on-site free of charge. The races are co-sponsored by SLVP and Madrid Canoe Regatta.

Madrid Mile is a one mile C-1 Pro sprint race.

C-1 Pro race is 9 miles including a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam.

C-1/K-1 Amateur Marathon, a NYPRA points race, is 9 miles and includes a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam.

Recreational Races are 3 miles in length and upstream of the Madrid dam, circling an island at 1.5 miles, and then returning to the start/finish line.

C-2 Pro race is 16 miles and includes a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam.

Amateur Marathon race is 13 miles and includes a 1/4 mile portage around the Madrid dam.
