Adirondack White Out Weekend
Traditionally held on President's Day Weekend, this annual winter festival stretches across the western Adirondack communities of Wanakena, Star Lake, Cranberry Lake and Newton Falls. A true wilderness area with a friendly, small-town feel. Come out & have a snow day (or two) within the Adirondack Region in St. Lawrence County! Indoor and outdoor activities include natural history, live music, conta dancing, open mics, arts and crafts, horse drawn wagon rides, fry pan toss, storytelling, local food, and more!

Friday, February 14
Ice Jam-Boree 9th Birthday Bash and Open Air Open Mic
6PM - 9PM @ Otto's Abode, 6 Hamele Street, Wanakena
Enjoy some entertainment or be the entertainment! Sign up for a time to present your music, poetry, story or snowball juggling routine.
Campfire & Snow Croquet & Hot Food

Warm up by the fire, visit with friends, try a game of snow croquet! Otto's Abode will be open late for your snack and beverage needs.
Luminary Woods Walk
Dusk - 10PM @ 2nd Street, Wanakena
Walk the wooded trail from 2nd street through the woods to Ranger School Road. They way will be lighted with ice luminaries!
Labyrinth Fairy Village
Dusk - 10 PM @ South Shore Road, Wanakena
Stroll across the iconic Wanakena Footbridge, then to the labyrinth on South Shore Road. There, meander through the maze while viewing the Fairy Villages sprinkled throughout its walkways.
Glow Skating

Bring your own skates. Entry to the arena and glow item are FREE thanks to Nolan's Tax Service!

Learn about the historic beaver fur trade in New York state by examining objects from the Adirondack Experience teaching collection, including authentic beaver hats and pelts, and visit Dolorus, our beaver mount! Bring your kids to participate in some beaver related activities like constructing a beaver dam,
doing activity sheets, and playing a beaver game!

Winter Bird Walk
9 - 11 AM @ SUNY ESF Ranger School (257 Ranger School Road / Wanakena)
SUNY ESF Ranger School and Northern New York Audubon are sponsoring a winter bird walk in the James F. Dubuar Forest as part of the Adirondack White Out Weekend. Vanessa Rojas and Julie Fogden will co-lead the walk. No experience necessary. All are welcome.
This walk is geared toward beginners. Bird ID and binocular use tips will be provided. Binoculars are available to use for those who do not have their own. Meet in the Dining Room of the main Ranger School building at 9am for snacks and a brief introduction, then head outside by 9:15 to view bird activity on the Ranger School campus (to return at 11am). Parking is available in front of the Ranger School by the river. Limited handicap accessible parking is behind the building. Dress for the weather.
