Description
Young Richard G. Meyers of Canton, became fascinated with the old West from stories of his great uncle, a prospector during the 1849 Gold Rush. Meyers’ interest in the Old West found him starting to collect items about its history and one individual who inspired his collecting passion, was artist Frederic Remington (1860-1909), himself a fellow native of Canton. “A Love of Remington” features a selection of illustrations that appeared in newspaper and magazines as well as book and advertisements, showing how Remington was experienced by the public during Meyer’s lifetime.
