Series Schedule:
Saturday, March 22
A little Mud (Season) Music kicks off with “Getting Strange at the Grange,” an evening of psychedelic rock from Potsdam’s Kaputt, crunchy Americana from Boyden Brook Band, and late night dance tunes from NCPR’s DJ David Sommerstein. Food will be available for purchase from Big Spoon Kitchen with liquid libations from Canton Apples and Frosty Twig Cider. Suggested donation of $10 at the door.
Saturday, March 29
The Phoenix Jazz Collective brings the heat with Don Reed on bass, Lucas Watts on keys, Larry Baycura on drum set, and Sam Bailey on Saxophone. Food from Foster the Plant Cafe and Earthbound Bread will be available for purchase. Bregg Winery will be serving local wines and One Steep at a Time Tea will have hot and cold non alcoholic options. Suggested donation of $5 at the door.
Saturday, April 5
The series comes to a grand finale on April 5th when locally raised saxophonist Seba Molnar will lead an all-star seven person ensemble of professional musicians from Boston. Rooted in jazz but exploring a range of genres and global inspirations, Seba and Friends (including Grammy-nominated vocalist Debo Ray along with Jess Curran, Caio Afiune, David Ling, Mike Garry, and Tyson Jackson) are sure to get you moving. Nature’s Storehouse and Earthbound Bread will bring delicious food available for purchase, with Pierrepont Cider and One Steep at a Time Tea bringing the beverages. Suggested donation of $20 at the door.
Supporting a Good Cause:
A Little Mud (Season) Music will raise funds for GardenShare's Bonus Bucks program which helps eligible community members to afford locally grown food during the farmers market season. The 2025 Bonus Bucks program has only reached approximately 50% of its fundraising goal and it is anticipated that demand will be high this year, with the continued high grocery prices as well as uncertainty about government funded assistance programs. A Little Mud (Season) Music events will be a fun way for community members to enjoy music and food, while also supporting this worthwhile cause.
About The Venue:
The Crary Mills Community Center (formerly known as the grange hall) provides an exciting new venue for music and events in the Canton Potsdam area. Building on a rich history of community events from chicken barbecues to square dances, the revitalized Community Center looks forward to hosting these concerts. The building is available to rent by the hour or the day and the summer schedule is already starting to fill up. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to cmcommctr@gmail.com.
