Description
Historically, many women had to produce textile products like clothing and blankets for their families, some even spinning and weaving the cloth themselves. Carlton Stickney – noted antiquarian, Stockholm town historian, and member of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association board – will speak at the SLCHA at noon on Thursday, April 19th, about the tools that were used for these tasks, such as looms and spinning wheels, many of which can still be found in local attics and basements today. Brown Bag Lunches are free and open to the public. Bring your own lunch and enjoy a beverage and dessert provided by SLCHA.
