Rodger Hicks, a well known expert in mental health, joins us in exploring techniques to care of yourself during these times of professional and personal stress.

ABOUT RODGER HICKS
Rodger Hicks, MA, LMHC has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He currently works as a clinical therapist for TLS of NNY. He provides agency and community trainings in a wide range of topics including anger expression, DSM 5 diagnoses and treatments, co-dependency, engagement skills, motivational interviewing, substance use and treatment, creative expressions, and provider self-care among them. He has 16 years of experience teaching psychology on the college level and over 32 years of experience as a therapist, mentor, clinical supervisor, and director of a variety of community mental health programs including both inpatient and outpatient mental health centers, day treatment programs, case management programs, and two partial hospital centers. He is a CPR and First Aid instructor, Mental Health First Aid Instructor for children and adults, and is working towards certification as a tobacco cessation specialist. He has a passion for assisting people in discovering their strengths, loves to play sax in a variety of bands in the area, and being a father of two wonderful world traveling children, Jake and Sierra.
