St. Lawrence County Tourism Team Recognized by New York State Tourism Industry Association with Digital Marketing Award

Canton, NY — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that its tourism promotion team has been recognized by the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA) with a 2025 Excellence in Tourism Marketing Campaigns, Projects & Programs award. The honor celebrates the successful two-year Digital Canadian Marketing Campaign designed to attract Canadian visitors to St. Lawrence County for weekend getaways.

The award will be presented at the New York State Tourism Excellence Awards ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Lake George, New York. Each year, NYSTIA recognizes organizations and professionals across the state who demonstrate innovation, creativity, and measurable impact in advancing New York as a premier travel destination.

St. Lawrence County’s award-winning campaign was developed in partnership with BBG&G Integrated Marketing, a Hudson Valley-based marketing agency. Together, the Chamber and BBG&G crafted a digital initiative tailored to Canadian audiences, highlighting the county’s vibrant small towns, scenic waterways, and year-round recreational opportunities. The campaign, executed between 2023 and 2025, targeted Canadian travelers seeking easy, affordable, and memorable weekend escapes just across the border.

The effort proved to be both timely and impactful for positioning St. Lawrence County as a convenient and appealing option for visitors. By focusing on digital advertising and storytelling tailored to Canadian travel interests, the initiative not only encouraged visitation but also drove economic benefits to local businesses, from lodging and dining to retail and recreation.

It is rewarding to see our strategic efforts celebrated on a statewide stage.”

The New York State Tourism Excellence Awards are determined through a competitive review process led by a panel of industry experts. This year’s program drew a record number of entries representing every region of the state, making recognition particularly meaningful for the St. Lawrence County team.
