St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and The Traveling Chevaliers Announce Fundraising Partnership for 2026

CANTON, NY — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce (STLC Chamber) has officially entered a strategic partnership with local travel firm The Traveling Chevaliers to launch a community-driven fundraising initiative for the 2026 season.

The collaboration centers on a curated "Discover Switzerland, Austria & Bavaria" group tour   this fall, with a portion of each reservation donated to the Chamber. These funds are earmarked to support the Chamber’s ongoing mission to promote local business growth, enhance regional tourism, and provide professional development programs throughout St. Lawrence County.

"Our goal is always to find innovative ways to diversify the Chamber’s funding while providing unique value to our members," said Ben Dixon, STLC Chamber Executive Director. "By partnering with a local business like The Traveling Chevaliers, we are able to turn a community experience into a direct investment in our county’s economic vitality."

The partnership is designed to foster deeper connections among the North Country business community. By traveling as a cohesive regional group, participants have the opportunity to network and build relationships outside of the traditional office environment, strengthening the social fabric of the local business landscape.

Craig Chevalier, owner of The Traveling Chevaliers, noted that the fundraising aspect was a primary driver for the collaboration. "As a local business, we wanted to ensure this program did more than just take people abroad—it needed to give back to the organization that does so much for our home economy. Every traveler on this trip is directly contributing to the Chamber’s ability to serve St. Lawrence County."

The 2026 initiative follows a model of "affinity travel," where organizations use group excursions to generate non-dues revenue. This sustainable funding model allows the Chamber to maintain its robust calendar of events and advocacy work without increasing the financial burden on its small-business members.
