DESCRIPTION OF EXHIBIT FROM ARTIST
“Willing Hands” is a series of portraits focusing on hands at work. In this series I portray unique portraits of individuals, never showing their faces. I want to explore all the different ways we use our hands- for work, for leisure, for connecting with others. I have always been fascinated by hands as a vehicle for telling a story- not only do we talk with our hands, but our hands themselves reflect our life experiences through their individual physicality and character. Hands are a portrait of a life lived. This series tells the story of a multitude of moments that make up the richness of life, and the joy of living." - Catherine
