Description
Lil Anne and Hot Cayenne: Li’l Anne and Hot Cayenne is a zydeco/cajun band based in Ithaca, NY. The band has played a variety of prestigious venues including the Rhythm and Roots Festival, The Great Connecticut Cajun/Zydeco Music & Arts Festival, Blast from the Bayou Cajun Zydeco Festival, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, The Great Blue Heron Music Festival and the Saratoga Springs Dance Flurry Festival. Take half a dozen groovemasters, add a spicy blend of rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and funk to the up-tempo Zydeco beat, and presto, you’ve got a dance groove that just won’t quit!
Stork is the lead singer and accordion player of Li’l Anne and Hot Cayenne. Stork chose the band’s name as a tribute to her nickname, Li’l Anne, which she received from a bass player at a band camp in the Catskills. Stork has been playing in the zydeco-style band for 18 years. This Louisianan genre first originated with French Creole speakers and was later infused with blues by artist Clifton Chenier.Covid information will be posted as we review current guidelines and finalize decisions. For the past eleven years, the Concert Series has allowed us to showcase local North Country musical acts along with other acts not often showcased in this area. These acts brought enjoyment to over 6,500 people in 2019! The twelfth year of the Waddington Concert Series was scheduled to begin on June 19th, 2020. Due to the pandemic all concerts were rescheduled for summer 2021. We start off the tentative sensational 2021 season with our opening show on June 18th. We sincerely thank our supporters and entertainers for their understanding, cooperation and loyalty! We are excited to present nine fantastic concerts in our beautiful pavilion at Island View Park rain or shine!!! We can't wait to resume our series!
