The Waddington Concert Series presents the 2023 season with Rollin on the River, with Fridays evenings concerts from 6:30PM - 8:30pm (two performances with extended hours) on July 7 - August 25, 2023. The Summer Series will be held in the Pavilion at Island View Park overlooking the beautiful St. Lawrence River. Bring a chair and a friend, head down to the bottom of Main Street and enjoy 8 fantastic shows! All concerts are FREE, but donations are welcome to help with future concerts. FRITZ'S POLKA BAND Annual Alice Carr MEMORIAL DEDICATION CONCERT and Memory Board. Back by popular demand, playing everything from modern-style polka to county to rock and event blue, FPB performs and eclectic mix of musical styles! Fritz's Polka Band is NOT an oompa pa band or the stereotypical "polka" band. FPB is the first polka band to perform at a Woodstock Festival (Woodstock '99)! On October 7, 2010, FPB was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame. Fritz's Polka Band has made 18 recordings. In 2011, FPB had two different songs appear in episodes of the hit cable TV show, 'Breaking Bad', which airs on AMC. PHIL HURLEY is an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known for being a founding member of Gigolo Aunts, Stonehoney, and South Austin Moonlighters. He toured extensively as the lead guitarist for Tracy Bonham, Jimmy LaFave, and Fountains of Wayne, among others. Hurley co-wrote the theme songs for Lucky Louie and The Greg Behrendt Show, as well as having many of his songs used in films and TV shows Hurley released a solo acoustic album, Nowhere Left to Run, in 2019. DOUBLE AXEL will present their much loved music to their loyal fans. This concert will be 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Since 1971, A Potsdam "Fun Band" of the past, Frankie Johns, Rob Zollner and Alex Vangellow have been playing all over Northern New York. This concert will showcase music of their many years together. An iconic group of musicians, Double Axle brings their own flavor to songs of every genre while enveloping the audience with every tune. This extended concert is fully sponsored by Seaway Trail Auto Sales/Car Wash, Premier Self Storage.

SIX FOOT MIDGET is playing in conjunction with the Waddington Homecoming Main Street Block Party. The show will start at 6:30pm and continue until 10:30pm! This group is one of the premiere party bands in the North Country. They are known for playing the "guilty pleasure" songs from the 80's, 90's and 2000's, and the standards that keep the crowd dancing all night long. The current line-up includes founding members: Ben Todd (vocals, guitar) and Scott Colby (drums, vocals) along with Matt Gayle (Bass and Vocals) and Bill 'Tracer" Tracy (lead guitar and vocals). Sponsors: are Dan Rose Memorial Golf Tournament, St. Lawrence Recreation, and The Waddington Homecoming Committee.
TAS CRU. With five albums in the last seven years, Cru released Riffin' The Blue this past February 2023. Tas Cru is truly a roots-blues eclectic who refuses to let his music be bound to just one style. Downbeat Magazine notes that he is one of the most unique of root music musicians plying his trade today. With a repertoire of over 100 original songs from multiple albums and dozens of crowd-pleasing classics, this seasoned singer-guitarist-songwriter is truly one of the most unique of roots-blues musicians plying his trade today. Cru was honored with his first Blues Foundation Blues Music Award nomination in 2018 for his album, Simmered & Stewed. That album and the two that followed (Memphis Song & Drive On) were all recipients of the Syracuse Area Music Awards (the SAMMY's) for best blues recordings. His 2021 album, Broke Down Busted Up was nominated by Blues Blast Magazine (Best Acoustic Blues Album) and the Independent Blues Awards (Modem Roots Album, Modern Roots Artist and Content Creator Award.) MARK RUST and OPENING ACT: IMPROMPTU. Mark Rust, a multi- talented performer from Woodstock, NY, will perform a program of "Classic Covers & Sing-Alongs" on guitar, banjo, fiddle and hammered dulcimer at 7pm. Mark starred in the Broadway Musical Hit, Pump Boys & Dinettes, and has appeared in People Magazine performing with Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul & Mary. He has released several recordings, and can be seen playing music in the recent Terrence Malick film, "The Better Angels" about Abraham Lincoln's boyhood years. This show will be fun for all ages! Opening for Mark at 6:30, is Impromptu a quartet of very talented singers who combine unique barbershop harmony with their SINTERIE distinct comedy performance. NORTHBOUND, a renowned local group returns to Waddington for the final show of the season! This group is comprised of locals Andy VanDyne (electric guitar, keyboard & vocals), Michael Welch (acoustic guitar & vocals), Don Cannamela (bass & vocals), Larry Baycura (drums), Tim Savage (tenor sax) and sometimes a guest aritst or two. This band performs pop, folk and rock music from the past five decades. These guys are so comfortably talented that they can perform as a duo (Microburst), trio or larger group with ease.
