Description
THE SONGTAG: HISTORICAL KNITTING AND EVERYDAY WEAR
Folkstore artist and pattern designer Mona Zillah has been leading a knitalong that invites participants to make a songtag, a historical shawl that wraps around the wearer and warms the heart. The event will begin at 1:00pm at the Silas Wright House, and then moves to TAUNY Center for snacks and pre-Halloween party fun!
Join Mona and other knitters on October 28 to talk about the project, show their work, and enjoy treats based on historical recipes by Chef Andre. In the process, you'll learn how historical clothing is not just for Halloween costumes, but can be practical and beautiful for everyday wear.
This event is presented by the St. Lawrence County Historical Association and is open to anyone who who loves knitting or historical attire.
