🎄 TAUNY Holiday Open House & Gingerbread Contest 2025
Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) is proud to announce its annual Holiday Open House & Sugar & Spice Gingerbread Contest! This annual highlight features live traditional music, festive foodways, and hands-on holiday workshops for all ages.

The event is free and open to the public (donations are appreciated) and is the perfect opportunity to shop local, as the Folkstore is open all day featuring traditional art and gifts from over 150 local artisans (jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, foods, and more!).


Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2025

Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Location: The TAUNY Center, 53 Main Street, Canton, NY

Cost: Free (Donations to the Year-End Appeal are appreciated at www.tauny.org)

Highlights & Activities
Music: Performance by the Madstop Fiddlers led by Gretchen Koehler.

Hands-On: Instrument Petting Zoo (try traditional instruments!), Candlemaking Workshop (with Ginger Sweeney), and Gingerbread House Making Workshop (with Sue Wilder).

Shopping: The Folkstore is open all day, with new holiday gift collections from 150+ local artisans.

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Holiday Fragrances Beeswax Candlemaking Workshop*
