SLCCHC Garden Tour: Fruit Production & Transitioning to Native Plants on a Village Property
Join Rose Rivezzi in Potsdam to learn about the evolution of neglected human spaces into thriving natural grounds that support fruit cultivation, including currants, raspberries, pears, apples, plums, cherries, a northern hardy kiwi, and grapes.
Rose will chronicle her journey over the last 18 years to transform two condemned properties and her experiences transitioning to edibles and native plants.
Although no special clothing is required, we do encourage participants to dress appropriately for outdoor activities and to wear sunscreen. Bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated is also recommended.
About Rose: Rose Rivezzi came to Potsdam in 1976 as a student at SUNY and has never left. First she became a teacher, and now she owns & operates Big Spoon Kitchen with her son. Rose has always had small gardens, but has taken her love of plants and gardening to another level over the past 2 decades.
