Proceeds from this event will go to the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, NY. Here are the details-- Captains' Route: Mass start at 9:30 am. (You may start earlier or later depending on your pace). This scenic 50-mile loop will shuttle you along the Oswegatchie River, past quiet Amish homesteads, and up to the St. Lawrence River. Stop, top off your engine, and enjoy the historic Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, NY at the halfway point. Swing back to Canton on a fast, flat farmland route. You are invited to explore the art and information inside the museum! For riders with cleated shoes, please be prepared to help protect the museum's finished wood floors. Consider packing flip-flops or other footwear. Socks are okay, too! Lieutenants' Route: Mass start at 11:00 am (You may start earlier or later depending on your pace). Enjoy a 20-mile romp looping you past two Frederic Remington landmarks in the heart of Canton. As life goes, you will roll past Remington's birthplace and end the ride with a stop at Remington's gravesite. In between, you'll pedal North Country landscapes the likes of which influenced some of Remington's work. This route is ebike friendly! After-Ride Meal: You rode a long way! Enjoy a bite to eat and indulge in a drink after your ride. The meal service will begin at noon and end around 3 pm. The final menu is in the works but keto and vegetarian options will be available. ***All riders, even those who are pre-registered, must sign a waiver and release form before they start.*** Remington's 160th Ride will go rain or shine. We will only cancel if severe weather is forecasted. Sign of the times: Remington's 160th Ride organizers reserve the option to make the ride virtual if NYS COVID regulations require. Please wear a mask when gathered at the start and while in close proximity to others while picking up food. You do not need to wear a mask while riding. However, do consider safer social distancing as you ride. Please help slow the spread of COVID in our community. Refund policy: Since this is a fundraising event, refunds will be given at the organizers' discretion in case of cancelation or the ride goes virtual.
