Description
2023 BELLE CHEVIGNY PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL
Mark your calendars for an entertaining weekend of river, lake and country art! The Morristown Public Library Library host 20+ artists from 4 states and Canada who will paint landscape pictures within a 15-mile radius of Morristown, NY to search for desired landscape to paint. The artists will paint from Thursday, August 3rd - Saturday, August 5th, then three painting by each artist will be exhibited to the public on Sunday, August 6th and offered for sale at an auction at the Bella-Brooke Vineyard and Winery. The public is encouraged to approach the artists in order to get a closer look at their work. There will also be a separate Teen Plein Air event on August 5th for artists 14-17 funded in part by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Teens need to sign up in advance with either Morristown art teacher Jim Murray or the library and show one previous piece of art then have done.
These paintings are of OUR waterfalls, woods, barns, fields and waterfronts. Come see how many of them you recognize. See how an artist has interpreted what we may take for granted.
