Description
This is one of three courses offered as part of the 2023 Ag & Food Producers Academy. Course Description: Season extension can be a valuable asset in the North Country. High tunnels and greenhouses allow one to start seeds and seedlings early, protect crops from early frosts and overwinter greens. Discover the steps needed to determine if protected culture is a good fit for your business with considerations for funding, constructing, and manage a high tunnel or greenhouse. This course is good for people considering or already maintaining high tunnels or greenhouses as the instructor has two decades of experience and welcomes questions from the group. Are there limits to who can sign up?: For this course the priority is participants from St. Lawrence County. If you are located in one of the other 5 northern NY counties (Essex, Franklin, Lewis, Clinton or Jefferson) but would like to participate, complete the course registration and you will be added to a waitlist. You will be notified 2 days prior to the course start date if space is available.
