Description
Work is wrapping up on Part I of a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program for a 34-mile stretch of the Oswegatchie River.
Project sponsors have scheduled a pair of public meetings to gather public input on the project and on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the waterfront within the project area.
The Town of Canton is leading the cooperative effort among the towns of De Kalb and Oswegatchie and villages of Richville, Rensselaer Falls and Heuvelton. An approved LWRP reflects community consensus and provides a clear direction for appropriate future development. It establishes a long term partnership among local governments, community-based organizations, and the State. Communities with approved LWRPs can apply for grant funding to implement projects identified in the LWRP.
The Oswegatchie LWRP meetings will take place virtually on the Zoom platform. Two meetings are scheduled for the convenience of the greatest number of people. The meetings will take place at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., Tuesday June 15. The meeting content will be identical, and so participants need not plan to attend both, but they are welcome to do so.
Participants must RSVP to https://tinyurl.com/Oswegatchie-Workshops to register. Zoom login information will be distributed prior to the meetings.
