Join us for an in-person, outdoor networking opportunity! The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and the St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency are hosting a new event, “Nature & Networking” at the Indian Creek Nature Center in Canton, NY, at 5pm on Thursday, April 29th.
Attendees will split up into small groups for a 'walk & talk' on the Nature Center’s phenomenal trail system. (People interested in participating, but not walking, will be able to network under the pavilion!!) Each group will have a trail host and the topic of discussion for the evening will be 'Workforce Needs'. The host organizations seek to learn more about the workforce needs and issues businesses face in the current economy and provide an opportunity for businesses to share successes and challenges surrounding today's workforce.
Participants may arrive at 4:30 p.m. to learn more about the Nature Center and its trail network from Indian Creek Nature Center board members.
We will have opening remarks at 5:00 and then enjoy a 20-30-minute walk. We will then wrap up at the pavilion, and door prizes will be provided from Adirondack Fragrance Farm, Finen Maple, Five Elements Apothecary Chocolates and several other STLC Chamber member businesses!
To make your attendance an ideal experience we recommend bringing sturdy waterproof shoes or boots, rain gear, bug spray, and a folding chair.
** Masks are required! **
A $5 Fee (cash or check) is requested to support the work of the Chamber. Space is limited!
Indian Creek Nature Center is located at 770 County Road 14, just outside the Village of Rensselaer Falls. The primary trailhead is located at the end of the 0.3-mile gravel Indian Creek Nature Center access drive. Toilets, a picnic pavilion, and parking are available there. (Note - there are 2 trailheads for Indian Creek Nature Center. Please be sure your GPS is set to the one closer to the Village of Rensselaer Falls.)
Check out the trails here: https://www.stlctrails.com/trails/trail/indian-creek-nature-center
BONUS: As a perk of the experience, Indian Creek is one of the trails included in the new Great 8 Nature Nuts Challenge, which will launch in May. Individuals can begin to log their trails on www.STLCtrails.com
