Description
Love Our Settlers Second Saturday Children’s Program
Hosted by the Ogdensburg Children's Museum
February is the month of love, and what better way to celebrate than by learning about the contributions of immigrants to our community? The Ogdensburg History Museum proudly presents the Love Our Settlers Second Saturday Children’s Program, led by local retired Kindergarten teacher Nancy Wilson Mashaw.
The Love Our Settlers program focuses on the stories of immigrants who have made a significant impact on Ogdensburg. Attendees will hear about figures such as John Hannan, who arrived during the Potato Famine and became a successful entrepreneur and mayor, and Margaret Walsh Hannan, who contributed to the Red Cross during the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918.
This program is an excellent opportunity for children to learn about the rich history of Ogdensburg and the contributions of its immigrant settlers. Space is limited to 25 children, so early registration is encouraged. Families can register online at ogdensburghistorymuseum.com.
The program is free and open to the public, making it a perfect family outing to celebrate the month of love by honoring the stories of those who helped shape the city of Ogdensburg, NY.
