Description
The Frederic Remington Art Museum invites the public to its Holiday Open House from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
The Museum’s 1810 Parish Mansion feels most like a historic mansion when it is decorated for the holidays. Admission is free. Please stop in for our extended hours and enjoy the festive decorations, new exhibits, local maker products, and discounts in the Museum Shop.
The list of local makers include: Debra Monteith Jewelry and Eye Candy with high quality handcrafted jewelry; J. Hackett Cliff & Co with artisan jams & jellies, Bella-Brooke Vineyard and River Myst Winery selling bottles of wine; Attagirl Soaps with all-natural handmade soaps; Not Your Average Cookie with cookies, jellies, and jams; Tom's Got Wood with handmade wood items; Sugar Rush Bakery with fresh baked goods; Newcombe’s Maple Ridge with maple products; 3 Seasons Whimsical Finds with holiday décor and Cosimano & Ferrari Olive Oil Company with extra virgin olive oils and vinegars.
The Museum Shop carries unique gifts including framed prints, holiday note cards, ornaments featuring the iconic Broncho Buster, and more. Guests can find special deals and promotions only available during the Holiday Open House.
Visitors can also visit the new Sally James Farnham permanent exhibit, as well as the 2020 New York State Juried Art Exhibition in the Richard E. Winter and Torrey Family Galleries. The purchase of art from the New York State exhibit benefits both the artist and the Museum.
The Museum is operating under strict guidelines for the health and safety of our guests, vendors, volunteers and staff. These include:
- If you are not feeling well, please stay home, even with mild symptoms.
- Masks must be worn at all times.
- Only vendors can handle their products. Kindly ask vendors for assistance and be patient until they can attend to you.
- Guests should stay with their immediate groups and maintain social distancing. Marked pathways will help people travel in one direction and stay 6 feet apart.
- Be respectful of other guests' space and wait if there is someone already at the booth you’d like to go to.
- Use the hand sanitizer often, at the stations throughout the Museum.
- There is no sampling of products.
- If the capacity exceeds the number of guests allowed in the museum at one time per NYS Statewide Guidelines, guests will be asked to form a line outside the door and wait 6’ apart.
