The Hammond Historical Museum is pleased celebrate 200+ years of Scottish Heritage at their 5th Annual Hammond Scottish Festival on Saturday July 8, 2023, from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Enjoy a full day of Scottish culture including the 5K Kilt Run/Walk, the "Battle on the Border" Highland Games, music, dancers, craft vendors with Celtic flare, food vendors, and plenty of children's activities!
Throughout the grounds, one can explore family connections with clan representative, purchase unique items from a variety of craft vendors, and interact with authentic weaving, spinning and blacksmithing demonstrators. For more fun, there is a Scottish photo booth with a beautiful enlarged background mural, painted by Pam Winchester. Kids can have fun "storming the castle" via a great little obstacle course or enjoy the small petting zoo or the "Wee Bairns" activity tent. Five museum buildings with some very cool displays & local artifacts will be open throughout the day.
The festival will have plenty of food and beverage options. Fobare's BBQ & Catering Company will provide a great variety of tasty food. For any of you Haggis lovers out there, the Haggis Hut will offer such delights as Walking Haggis Tacos and Scottish Nachos with Haggis! Plenty of Scottish sweets will also be available. Hammond Fire & Rescue will sell beer and soda and Maple Brewing will have their famous craft beer for sale.
