Description
Faeland Fairy Festival Announced GOUVERNEUR, NY -- The public is invited to to a Celtic fairy inspired nature festival to be held near Gouverneur on 520-acres of farmland. The Faeland Fairy Festival will be held on August 19, 20 and 21 with the theme of “Celtic-Irish Fairy,” including many family-favorite fairy characters and vendors. Visitors are welcome to share in the world of Faeland, a mystical place filled with fairies, elves, elementals and more from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19 and from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. All are invited to find their way through the winding woodlands to dance with the fairies on guided woodland walks. Fairies are not the only creatures who live in these woods though. Workshops on plant spirits, the secret of trees, plant music and more allow participants to delve even deeper. Celtic Stories told by wonderful story tellers come to life with live characters in a nature stories event. Talented crafters will showcase their goods in a "crafters circle" and attendees may join in the crafting fun. Workshops in the crafters circle include how to crochet, spin, and basketry, fiber arts as a meditative practice, plant spirit medicine and herbal preparations. Festival organizer Arielle Wolter invites you to "...come frolic on over one hundred acres filled with vendors, forest walks, workshops and events. We'll share the way of the "fae" and how to connect with the earth for a deeper spiritual union. Come out and play, the fairies are calling you!" Other workshops include musical vibrations of plants, guided woodland wildcrafting walks, dancing, meditations of the fae, work horse demonstrations and more. Admission for one day is $12. A three-day pass is $35 per adult at the gate or $30 in advance. Kids 12 and under are free. Package prices for 2 adults for a 3 day pass (Faeland Family Pass) is $40 in advance or $50 at the gate. Camping is also available, with package prices noted on the website. Homeschool families receive $5 off ticket packages. Admission includes all workshops. Food and beverages will be available separately. To purchase tickets in advance or for a complete list of Festival admission and camping options visit the ticketing webpage at bit.ly/FaeFest.
