Description
Cyanotype Scarf Workshop with Lynette Lundy
Join artist Lynette Lundy for a hands-on cyanotype workshop that blends materials with historic techniques. Learn to create one-of-a-kind wearable fabric art using dried flowers, leaves, and delicate lace fragments from Lynette’s collection of antique lace, some inspired by the museum’s textile collection. All materials are included, but participants are welcome to bring their own lace or dried botanicals to personalize their pieces. Lace will not be damaged in the printing process.
Please note that there is a minimum registration requirement for this class. If the minimum is not met, the class will be canceled and registrants will be notified and refunded. Regsitration is required.
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process using UV radiation (sunlight) that creates a monochromatic, blue-colored print on a variety of materials. It was first documented and named by Sir John Herschel in 1842. In this workshop, participants will learn the cyanotype process while working with fabric, prepared in advance, to create a wearable cotton twill scarf.
Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or simply curious about the cyanotype process, this class offers a joyful fusion of history, creativity, and personal expression that will result in a striking blue-and-white print.
