BRONZE BEAR CREATIVE PROCESS
THE SCULPTURES OF FREDERIC REMINGTON
Take part in the exploration of the artistic process of two of Ogdensburg’s renowned sculptors: Frederic Remington and Sally James Farnham presented by speaker Laura Foster. Frederic Remington is known for is exemplary use of the lost wax bronze casting method, creating 22 different subjects, starting with The Broncho Buster. Sally James Farnham is known for her extraordinary content as a pioneering woman in the field of sculpture and her works are part of the Remington Museum’s growing collection today.
This talk is part of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association's (SLCHA) Brown Bag Lunch Series. Bring your lunch and learn about an exciting topic related to St. Lawrence County.
Laura Foster served the Frederic Remington Art Museum as a curator beginning in 1989 and as Executive Director from 2013 to 2020. Foster has overseen the Museum’s publication of books, exhibitions, and research on both Remington and Farnham, all while helping solve mysteries about innumerable objects of art.
