The St. Lawrence County Historical Association will host their Brown Bag Lunch Series on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 12:00pm at the SLCHA Museum featuring Booze, Badboys & Bootleggers; North Country tales that Grandpa Never Told You, by Author James E. Reagen.
In January 1919, the U.S. Congress ratified the 18th Amendment, prohibiting the sale, manufacture, and consumption of alcohol. Reagan, longtime managing editor or the Ogdensburg Journal and Sunday Advanced News, will discuss his book chronicling the early days of Prohibition in communities across St. Lawrence County.
After the presentation, autographed books will be available for purchase and sampling of the non-alcoholic period cocktails.
