WHA Celebration of History presents "The Lost Villages Revisited"
On Sunday, Oct. 20th, from 2:00-4:00 PM, the Waddington Historical Association’s 3rd Annual Celebration of History will feature author Jim Brownell from the “Lost Villages Museum” in Ault Park, Long Sault, Ontario. His presentation, “The Lost Villages Revisited” will share images of the Canadian villages and hamlets that stood in the way of the Hydro and Seaway projects of the 1950’s.
In honor of the 70th anniversary of the start of Seaway construction and the 65th anniversary of the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway, pictorial of the changes Waddington went through during that time will be displayed. The event is being held in the Waddington Town Hall and is free to the public. It will also be live-streamed on Facebook Page: Waddington Museum and Historical Association.
