WELCOME SPRUCE GROUSE ART RECEPTION
Over the past few months artist Sara Lynch has been working with the Potsdam Public Library on Welcome Spruce Grouse, a multidisciplinary exploration of an endangered species of bird known as the spruce grouse, not to be confused with the ruffed grouse.
As part this project local scientist Dr Glenn Johnson gave a talk about his work with Angelena Ross and the NYSDEC to restore spruce grouse populations in the Adirondack Park. This has included capturing birds in Maine and Canada and bringing them to the Adirondack Park to be released.
The public is invited to the Potsdam Public Library on October 22nd from 1 to 3 PM to come have a fowl time at the culminating art exhibit for Welcome Spruce Grouse.
Please join in welcoming these small, well-traveled birds to the Adirondacks, and raising awareness around how humans can be a part of restoring our ecosystem.
This event is free and you can learn more about it HERE!
