Four days. Two Countries. One Event. This first of a kind event will include over 25 films, 7 panels and 8 special screenings on both sides of the US/Canada border in Ottawa and Brockville, Ontario and Canton and Potsdam, NY. No film festival in the world can claim such an international footprint. The Opening Gala on October 22nd will benefit the RCMP Foundation, and will be held at Ottawa’s spectacular Canadian Museum of History, the Gala will feature Guest of Honor Dan Aykroyd presenting a 35th Anniversary screening of “The Blues Brothers” with a red-carpet arrival, a conversation on his career and live performance with the Downchild Blues Band during a post screening cocktail reception featuring Aykroyd’s own Crystal Head brand vodka. Additional events throughout the weekend include the Canton Block Party, sponsored by SUNY Canton, the Empire State Filmmaker Award, the Closing Night film and party, VIP Lounge and “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (on Elm Street) - a one of a kind presentation at the film’s namesake thoroughfare.
