North Country Wild Showcase
Part 1
Spend a morning in beautiful Heritage Park in downtown Canton learning about Nature Up North's North Country Wild (NOCO Wild) community science program! The NOCO Wild program has the goal of studying the ways in which animals move throughout St. Lawrence County and how they behave in different habitats.
Nature Up North is enlisting community members from across the North Country to help answer these questions by having participants take game cameras home and put them on their properties, recording the animals that are there.
In the first part of this two-part event, Nature Up North will walk you through the steps of selecting a good sight for your camera, what data should be recorded, and setting up a camera. A second event will be held on Saturday, May 3rd to retrieve the cameras and see what we caught on film.
All cameras from this event will be placed in Heritage Park.
