Garlic Mustard is an invasive herb that threatens native tree and wildflower species in our local forests. Fortunately for us, we can help control its spread by eating it! Join Nature Up North and TAUNY in helping to pull garlic mustard from where it is growing in Canton and taking part in the North Country tradition of cooking with the bounty of the land--whether farmed or foraged. We'll meet at TAUNY for an intro to the ecology of garlic mustard, head over to SUNY Canton where we will pull garlic mustard and bag it for disposal, then we'll meet back at the TAUNY kitchen for a demonstration on how to turn this invasive weed into a tasty pesto. Environmental stewardship never tasted so good! Please RSVP to Jake Malcomb, Nature Up North Project Manager at jmalcomb@stlawu.edu.
