Presentation (2 to 3 PM) - Places Lost and Found: Reimaging in the Post Urban Renewal Era. Robert Charron, Architect will present a brief overview of Ogdensburg?s history from the late 19th century to the urban renewal project of the 1960s and 1970s. He will also outline recent community revitalization projects throughout northern and central New York. Andrea Smith, Ogdensburg?s Director of Development, will describe recent developments since urban renewal that are designed to improve the quality of life in Ogdensburg. Recent projects include: brownfield remediation, waterfront development, land use strategies, economic development and more. Robert and Andrea will discuss ways to create a vision for future decades, especially in the city?s downtown core.
