About Us

St. Lawrence University is a vibrant, collaborative community of learners who value thought and action. Students tap their full potential as they embrace the natural environment, engage with global challenges and experience the relevance and adventure of a liberal arts education in a complex and changing world. St. Lawrence is the oldest continuously coeducational institution of higher learning in New York State.
Our community includes nearly 2,400 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students and over 200 faculty members. At St. Lawrence, our faculty members pride themselves on not just knowing students' names, but knowing their students. Our student-faculty ratio is 11:1 and students can choose from 35 majors and 39 minors.
St. Lawrence's residential campus breeds a close-knit community; more than 98 percent of students live on campus and there are more than 100 clubs and organizations to join - and there are new ones being created every year! More than 60 percent of St. Lawrence students study off campus through one of our international semester programs in 18 countries or in one of our six programs throughout the United States.
