Bulk Food Fiesta! * Crustless Quiche & Incredible Egg Dishes! cook together * eat together * take food home! Monthly Skill-Sharing, Bulk Food Fiesta and/or Make-n-Take Gatherings Join in the fun on the third Wednesday of each month! All are welcome! *~_\:/_~* *~_\:/_~* *~_\:/_~* Local Living Venture This Month: Wednesday November 16, 2016 5 until 8 pm Helping Hands Kitchen 5868 Route 56 4.4 miles south of Potsdam, corner of Church St., downtown Hannawa Falls, NY 13647. Look for the orange lawn sign: "Local Living - Workshop Site." * For this bi-monthly bulk food fiesta, we will be preparing various egg dishes - emphasis on the most simple and wonderful meals of crustless quiche with local veggies (maybe some meat versions?) and definitely gluten free options available! Other egg dishes will be made and/or discussed as well! * Learn basic cooking skills, enjoy a meal together, take food home for healthy meals later! * Bring a baking dish or two to take home the bounty of our shared efforts. * There is no cost for the food which has been generously donated by the local farms and stores noted below! * Free will donations always welcome, of course. 5:00 Bring your aprons and favorite knife! (We do have some knives and plenty of cutting boards.) 6:30 A delicious meal will be shared. Please bring your own place setting if possible to reduce dishwashing. 7:00 Social hour! Divvying up of the leftover food to take home. Bring a pie pan or 6-9 inch baking pan to take some quiche home with you! Monthly Skill-Sharing, Bulk Food Fiesta & Make-n-Take Gatherings These gatherings feature a new theme each month, including all of the above fun and community building events and potentially many other activities, including gatherings to provide input into the upcoming Local Living Festival! If you would like to join us to learn more about our vision and mission, we'd love to see you there. All are welcome to join us at our monthly gathering featuring: Skill-sharing demo's and show-n-tell (bring your interesting project or hobby to share!) Bulk food-making (alternating months) where we all cook up a beautiful mess of food and share in the bounty - take some home to freeze and have healthy meals later! Make-it-take it projects utilizing sustainably sourced items, etc. Service projects (to benefit LLV events, organizing and/or others) Many other activities (some of which perhaps you can suggest!) Held every third Wednesday of the month starting at either 5 pm or 6:30, going until 8 or 9ish, or whenever we're done! Alternating Canton/Potsdam venues. FREE, but a small donation is appreciated to benefit LLV programs. Some bulk cooking events will be on a shared cost basis though we will attempt to have the foodstuffs donated by friendly local farms, CSA's, individuals, and stores.
