SUMMARY:SLC YPN Hosting Josh LaFave with the Leadership Institute
DESCRIPTION:(FREE\, and all are welcome.)\n\n\n\nThis is the first St. Lawrence County Young Professional Network event! Hosted by the Barking Dog Saloon and consisting of a short presentation\, a corn hole tournament\, and a period to socialize and mingle. We will also be planning future events!\n\n\n\nWe will have Josh LaFave as our guest speaker\, presenting on "Mental Models." Josh is the President of the St. Lawrence Leadership Institute\, the founding group that kick-started the Young Professionals' Network. A mental model is an explanation of someone's thought process about how something works in the real world\, educating upon how to see things from another persons point of view. \n\n\n\nOnce Josh's presentation concludes\, we will segue into discussion for the direction of the SLC YPN\, looking to determine everyone's interest levels\, assigning\, and welcoming the steering team and VPs\, then planning the next event. \n\n\n\nBrandon LaShomb will discuss what the YPN has accomplished\, potential avenues we can explore and expand into\, as well as some hurdles and assistance that will be needed to achieve this. There will be open dialogue\, allowing for opinions and interests to be expressed. \n\n\n\nAfter the event concludes we will socialize and network while the corn hole tournament rounds up. Guests are welcome to take part in parts of\, or all of the event. There is no charge for the event aside from your food and alcohol purchases.
