SUMMARY:Madrid Dam Music Series
DESCRIPTION:The Madrid Dam Music Series (MDMS) is a unique celebration of Madrid NY. They seek out performers who are based within 20-30 miles of Madrid\, and often feature especially talented students from Madrid Waddington Central School and SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. At each of the summer evenings they honor a local community group such as the Fire Department or Zumba dancers\, and/or a local business or individual that has sponsored the event. Our audience is comprised of children and adults of all ages. Their events have become known throughout the area for their fun and festive atmosphere. Events are free to all\, and light refreshments are sold. Donations are gratefully accepted\, and they are their primary source of support.\n\n\n\nMusic performances take place on evenings from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. All MDMS events are family friendly without smoking\, alcohol\, or strobe lighting. All events will be held in the Madrid Municipal Park unless otherwise noted. \n\n\n\nThe 2023 MDMS is as Follows:\n\n Jun 21: New Stage Dedication\, Madrid Bluegrass Festival Reunion\, Barb Hellar\, Reed Family Band\, Refreshments offered by UCM Ice Cream Social\, *** Concert extended to 8:30pm\n Jun 28: Sammie Ibey\, Vocalist will offer cover songs by John Denver (1st hour)\, Archie Turner\, Carrie Woodcock\, Singer Song Writer originals and covers (2nd hour)\n Jul 5: Wild Roses\, all female performance band\n Jul 12: The Goddard Girls\, musicians of Fiddle and Bodhram Drum\n Jul 19: Potsdam Community Band*** held at SLPEM Equine Building\n Jul 26: Summer Dam Jam*** begins at 5:30pm with an extended concert\n Jul 29: Fantasy Faire Festival*** special Saturday one-day event from 10am-5pm\n Aug 2: MDMS Community Chorus (1st hour)\, Jeff Hinkle (2nd Hour)\n Aug 9: Steelin' Country Band\, with special guests\n Aug 16: Madrid Waddington High School Tri-M Evening\n Aug 23: 10th Mountain Div Concert Band\, with military salutes\n Aug 26: "Play Music on Your Porch Day"*** special Saturday event (house & business porches\, Madrid town-wide) \n\n\n\nThe Summer Dam Jam...
