SUMMARY:Le Siège du Fort de La Prèsentation
DESCRIPTION:Formerly Founder's Weekend\, the Le Si ge du Fort de La Pr sentation will bring Reenactors from throughout the U.S. and Canada help celebrate Ogdensburg's French colonial history\, and to live life as people did during the French and Indian War. The weekend seeks to recreate history and bring it to life featuring live re-enactments of land and water battles\, and showcasing French\, British\, native and maritime encampments. This event has been ongoing for a decade and is especially instructive to children who can touch\, feel and live history. Participants dressed in clothing from the time period will show how they lived\, made sashes\, wove baskets\, started fires and threw tomahawks.\n\n\n\nSATURDAY\, JULY 16 \n\n10:00am: Gates Open\n\n10:00am: 18th Century Fishing Exhibition\n\n10:30am: Duel\n\n11:00am: Ladies Market Walk through Fort Fest\n\n11:30am: Children's Muster\n\n1:00pm: Battle Synopsis by Jim Reagan\n\n1:30pm: Battle Re-enactment\n\n3:00pm: "La Paye Des Soldats" (Pay Parade)\n\n4:00pm: Gates Close\n\n\n\nSUNDAY\, JULY 17\n\n7:30am: Mass at Newell Archeological Park (rain site at Notre Dame Church)\n\n10:00am: Gates Open\n\n10:00am: 18th Century Fishing Exhibition\n\n11:30am: Children's Muster\n\n1:00pm: Battle Synopsis by Jim Reagan\n\n1:30pm: Battle Re-enactment\n\n2:00pm: Gates Close\n\n\n\nThroughout the weekend there will be demonstrations and presentations of both civilian and military life.
