SUMMARY:Glacial History Hike at Mt. Arab
DESCRIPTION:Glacial History Hike at Mt. Arab\n \n\n\nJoin us on Sunday\, August 2nd at 11am at the Mt. Arab trailhead for a hike to the fire tower! Along the way\, we will observe remnants of glacial history.\n\n\n\nTwelve thousand years ago\, St. Lawrence County was covered in icy glaciers two miles thick. When the glaciers receded\, they changed the landscape and left behind signs of the past.\n\n\n\nAlong the trail\, we will look out for different signs of glaciers and talk about the geologic history of the North Country. We will also see some great views at the top! This hike is about two miles and around 750 feet of elevation\, which may not be suitable for all attendees.\n\n\n\nIf you feel concerned about the level of activity\, please reach out to djfrench@stlawu.edu with questions!\n\n\n\nWe will provide a ride leaving from the Brewer Bookstore in Canton if you need one\, and you are also welcome to caravan with us to the trailhead from the bookstore. If you are coming with us from Canton\, we will be leaving at 9:45 a.m.\n\n\n\nWe hope to see you there! Please register ahead of time at this link so we know how many people to expect! You can also indicate your need for a ride or desire to caravan here. https://www.natureupnorth.org/form/mt-arab-glacial-erratic-walk-26
