DESCRIPTION:Join us on November 7th for our 2019 Growing Community Social at SUNY Potsdam*. Come learn about local food and food justice efforts\, recognize our volunteers\, and honor Laurell Brault from the Potsdam Snack Pack Program with our Growing Community Award.\n\nSchedule: \n\n\n\n5:00 pm - 6:30 pm: Open house with WISER Center\, SUNY Potsdam Campus Food Pantry Tours\, and student poster showcases about local food and food justice initiatives. Check in at the WISER Center to participate.\n\n5:30 pm: Social hour and cash bar access begin in Thatcher Hall\n\n\n\n6:15 pm - 8:30 pm: Local foods dinner provided by PACES with programming to acknowledge volunteers and highlight our 2019 GardenShare Growing Community Award recipient\, Laurell Brault.\n\n\n\nCheck in at Thatcher Hall if you arrive after 6:15.\n\n\n\nDeadline to RSVP Monday\, November 4\, 2019:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1VcOSeLocfI4WOIypx5S1z-DzE4TSFawv6Nai9I6QK8o/edit\n\n\n\nAlthough the event is free\, we are asking all who attend to bring items to support the SUNY Potsdam Campus Food Pantry (as they are able).\n\n\n\nItems in demand are:\n\n- Fruit\, like apples and bananas (shelf stable) \n\n- Yogurt (single serve) \n\n- Cheese (small packs or string cheese) \n\n- Eggs\n\n- Pasta and sauces \n\n- Brown rice\n\n- Low-sugar peanut butter\n\n- Whole wheat and multigrain bread\n\n- Dry beans\n\n- Canned beans\n\n- Whole wheat tortillas\n\n- Salsa\n\n- Refried beans\n\n- Canned soups\n\n- Frozen veggies and fruit \n\n- Cereal\n\n- Oatmeal\n\n- Small packs of nuts and trail mix (without chocolate/candy)\n\n\n\nGluten free and vegan options are appreciated.\n\n\n\n*Parking is available on campus - Lot 9 (near the Performing Arts Center)
