DESCRIPTION:A boater safety course sponsored by The Higley Association and presented by NYS certified trainers Jim and Sue Corbett will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday\, July 9 at the Community Center\, Sugar Bush Lane.\n\nThose born on or after May 1\, 1996 are required to successfully complete an approved course in boater education in order to operate a motorboat\, and for those 14 and older to operate a personal watercraft (Jet-Ski).\n\nThose younger than 10 years old are not eligible to take this course.\n\nThere is no charge for course materials\, but\, for those 18 and older\, there will be a $10 fee made payable to the NYS Department of Parks and Recreation to cover certificate cost.\n\nCall 265-4354 for further information and to register.\n\nClass size is limited.\n\nIf unable to attend\, check for other dates at www.nysparks.com\; select Recreation then Boating then Education then Course availability.
