Science\n	Building Self-Healing Communities\n\n\nTo Register:\n\n \n\nABOUT CORI LESHER\n\nCori is currently a Provider Services Coordinator for the Jefferson-Lewis Childcare Project\, a program of Community Action Planning Council.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in Elementary and Special Education and a Master's Degree in Alternative Education\, both from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. Through her current and past employment she has provided training for teachers\, child care professionals\, parents\, and individuals who work with children in a variety of topics relating to child development\, education\, special education\, behaviors\,  and more.\n\n \n\nIn August 2020 she had the opportunity to participate in New York State and New York State Community Action Network's initiative to bring a national training program on trauma and ACEs to New York state.  The training program\, called The Understanding N.E.A.R. (Neuroscience\, Epigenetics\, Adverse Childhood Experiences\, and Resilience) is designed to support rapid dissemination of ACE and resilience science\, and to promote understanding and application of the science to improve health and wellbeing across the lifespan. The Understanding N.E.A.R. Trainers received their training from Dr. Robert Anda (one of the original doctors from Kaiser Permanente ACEs study) and Laura Porter (a national trainer).  As a N.E.A.R. Trainer\, Cori is able to facilitate the N.E.A.R. Science trainings to any individuals who may be interested. In a few more months\, Cori and the training cohort will complete their training process and become Master Trainers and will also be certified to train others as ACEs trainers.
